With the temps rising, the fabrics are changing, and this post is all about making a case for the simple cotton dress. Although we’re not even convinced we need to defend it with more than a few pictures.
When former #darlingintern, Savannah, said she was coming to town, I jumped on the opportunity to style her in the cutest maternity outfits possible. Because ain’t nothin’ more darlin’ than bump style.
Happy Earth Day, darlings! Stop and smell the flowers – and the #fashionrevolution – today. Take some time to educate yourself on the benefits of slow fashion, of supporting sustainable fashion companies and practices (like shopping consignment!). We spent some time chatting with Leah Wise of the Style Wise Blog today at Common House for an Earth Day Conversation on Conscious Consuming. Check it out!
I’m gonna pop some tags, only got $20 in my pocket… Okay, so Macklemore may have made shopping secondhand “cool” again, but for me, the owner of a consignment shop and avid secondhand shopper, it’s always been a way of life. So why shop consignment? Maybe the question is, why not?
ICYMI… we hosted our very first First Street Fashion Show this Sunday, April 8, right on First Street! To get all your Spring style inspo to blossom, we collaborated with our neighbors – Roxie Daisy, Eg, and Jean Theory – for a fun style event.

Every Spring in Virginia, as Winter clings on with cold, desperate fingers, the art of layering becomes every darling’s Spring transitional style challenge. When florals and bright patterns call your name, wear them. Layer them. And grab your trusty denim jacket for ALL the layering options.
Today marks THREE YEARS since I started my journey at Darling Boutique, and a year and a half as the sole owner. And today, reflecting on this boss babe life, all I can think about is how this is exactly what I was created for. I’m living out my purpose every day. (And I still can’t believe it most days.) And while I may not know what the next three years will look like, I do know this: align yourself with your purpose, and the path will become clear.
