Virginia Film Festival Style: Two Looks for Two VFF Ladies

From Cannes to Charlottesville, New York to LA,  from fashion to film, the season of the film festival is an exciting one. And it’s that time of year in Charlottesville! The Virginia Film Festival begins today, November 1, and runs through Sunday, November 4. The VFF brings the best of international, domestic, and local films to the theaters of Charlottesville every year. For the 4th year in a row, Darling is partnering with the festival to bring you the best of Virginia’s film festival style.

This year, Darling’s owner Linnea styled two ladies from the VFF staff – Production Coordinator Rebecca Malaret and Communications Manager Chandler Ferrebee. Aren’t they darling?!

As Linnea established in her film picks post yesterday, combining comfort with chic style is a film festival style must. With these crispy November temps and all their film hopping activities this weekend, we wanted to put the gals in look that felt effortlessly poised, cool, and comfortable. Inspired by Fall hues, playing with texture and shape, and some of the Fall trends (leopard print, anyone??), we created a look for each gal.

For Rebecca, on the left, it was all about being styled for running back and forth to the different venues + even introducing a film this year! We wanted her to look super professional, but layered to perfection and still comfortable. We layered a mock neck long sleeve dress under a knit sleeveless sweater dress – loving all the texture and color! We finished it off with the perfect burgundy leather jacket, and a pair of super comfortable clogs.

For Chandler, on the right, it was all about that leopard print coat, to be honest. The bright red longline sweater made for the perfect pop underneath, worn over a simple pair of black leggings and on-trend mules. Add a pair of mod-inspired brass circle studs and a statement necklace, and you have the perfect weekend outfit to look sharp and put together, but comfortable, chic, and WARM for the festival!

And, naturally, we took the gals to The Violet Crown on the mall for a mini shoot out front with the movie posters as their backdrop.
