Thank you for your interest in consigning with us! We strive to curate a collection of great pieces for our customers. That means we have high standards for condition and for an honest rapport with our consignors.

How it works

All consignment is reviewed by appointment only. We price items at approximately 30-40% of their original value, taking in to consideration their condition, style, and potential for resale. We sell your items for 60 days. After 45 days, items are sold at 50% off. At the end of 60 days, all unsold items will be donated to a charity of our choice or used for store promotions. If a consignor would like to pick up unsold items, they must request to do so before their 60 day cycle ends.

First time consignors will be asked to sign our consignment agreement. For each appointment, you will choose your payment option (more on that below), and receive via email a copy of your inventory list.

What to bring

Darling takes seasonal clothes, shoes, handbags, and accessories.

The seasonal intake schedule runs:

  • August - October | Fall;
  • November - January | Winter;
  • February - April | Spring;
  • May - July | Summer.

Condition of Items

Items should be in excellent condition. At the time of the appointment, all items must be:

  • Freshly laundered or dry cleaned (depending on garment care requirements). No exceptions!
  • "In excellent condition" means no holes, pilling, broken zippers, missing buttons, odors, or stains. Absolutely no pet hair will be tolerated.
  • Neatly folded in bags or bins (no hangers).
  • Shoes must be paired together neatly (no shoeboxes).

While we’d love to take each and every item, items will be carefully selected based on style, condition, and potential for resale. We do not take jewelry. We do not take suits, swimsuits, or intimates.

There are 2 options for payment: store credit or check. You will choose your payment option at your appointment.

  1. If the balance is used as store credit, the consignor will receive 50% of the selling price for their items.
  2. If the balance is cut as a check, the consignor will receive 40% of the selling price for their items.

Checks are written on Wednesdays and are available for pick up at the shop the next Wednesday after requested. Checks will be mailed for a $0.50 service fee.

Consignors are responsible for requesting the balance of their account. Just give us a call, email, or stop in and ask! Consignors have one year from the date of sale to request payment for any balance on their account. After one year, payments expire.

Grab your calendar

We accept consignment by appointment only, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Call or email us to schedule a time to bring your items in for review. Expect to book an appointment at least a few weeks out, as our calendar fills up quickly.

We’ll inspect all items while you wait, and keep whatever we think will make our customers happy and make you money. We’ll go through your items as quickly as possible, but, depending on the number of items you bring, you might have to wait a bit.

If you're bringing a large amount of items, there is a loading area that can be used right in front of the store. Just let us know you're headed our way and we’ll be more than happy to help you unload!
