Best Secondhand Clothing Store 2016 & 2015

We are filled with gratitude, because our darling community voted us the Best Secondhand Clothing Store in Cville for the second consecutive year! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting this little shop, and a big thank you to the many consignors and local artisans that make the shop the very best.

Drum Roll, Please...

A little over a year ago, in March of 2015, we became the co-owners of this darling shop, and joined the amazing community of small businesses and local life on the Downtown Mall. This Summer, Megan made the (bittersweet!) decision to move on from Darling to pursue nursing school. Linnea is now the sole owner of the shop, and thrilled to keep bringing consistent, high quality consignment and local artisans goods to the Charlottesville community.

We thank you endlessly for your support as consignors, customers, and friends. And, now, without further ado, The Darling Duet is signing off. Thank you for an incredible year.

Humbly and joyfully, Linnea & Megan

P.S. Stay tuned for future announcements about new services, local artisans, and even a revamped blog! It's an exciting new chapter for DarlingBoutique!

Snow Day Style: Winter Fashion

Cville is bustling* with the impending snow forecasted for this weekend. For the shop, the Winter weather means Winter fashion, and a fun snow day Downtown. So thank you, potentially big snow storm, for the chance to show off all of the outerwear and cozy accessories in the shop! (*Special note: break and milk.)

Winter Fashion | Outerwear

This blanket coat is a new arrival this week in the shop, and just as cozy and cute as can be. I kept the rest of the outfit neutral with a pair of moto-style J Brand jeans. These locally-made, handknit ear and hand warmers are the perfect cold weather accessory. And, of course, you can't forget a pair of snow boots!

How will you brave the snowy, cold winter in style? Shop at Darling Boutique to find all your cozy, cold weather finds!

Dressing Up with Darling: Peace, Love, and Best Of

Linnea White

MG_5017-resize.jpg

Last Friday, we celebrated our Best of C-VILLE win for Best Consignment Store. The theme was Peace, Love, and Best of, so naturally we wanted to dress for the party in the spirit of a 1969 flower chip. Cue Woodstock vibes. With flowers both foraged and courtesy of Hope Zielter, local floral designer, we put on our best 60's flower child frocks and donned our handmade flower crowns for a night of revelry. Thank you again to everyone and who voted for us!

Dressing Up with Darling: School Formal

Linnea White

Darling_4.26.15-20.jpg

Happy First Day of School! Last week's Dressing Up with Darling post was all about that Back to School style. This week, we're showcasing a little dressier side to school style - after all, there are formals ahead this school year to start thinking about.

Olivia looks sophisticated (and so mature!) in this little red number. With a bold color like this, understated, simply accessories are a great way to anchor the look. The handmade pieces by one of our local artisans in the shop - Owl Ridge Farmstead - adds a bit of edge to the outfit.

Remember to shop at Darling for your all your school style needs - every day, game day, or formal night!

On Olivia: Forever 21 dress, $9 // Owl Ridge Farmstead black arrowhead necklace, $38, and copper feather bracelet, $70 // Marc Fisher black heels, $26
