Dressing Up with Darling: Beaded with a Purpose

Linnea White

Our darling intern, Emma, is nearly 6 feet tall and all-the-way gorgeous. We were excited to style her for this week's Dressing Up with Darling post, featuring a basic summer outfit with fun details and accessorized to the max.

These beaded accessories are brand new at Darling, and have such a beautiful story behind them. Handmade in Uganda, the beaded necklaces, bracelets, sandals, earrings, and bags support the adoption of two little boys by a local couple here in Charlottesville. One hundred percent of each item purchased from this collection supports the adoption. Stay tuned for an upcoming pop up shop event featuring even more from this amazing couple in early August!

Dressing Up with Darling: Giving Back is the New Black

Linnea White

ssekobagcloseup_mt.jpg

Sure, this post may look like a LBD post. But look closer. This week, we're featuring an awesome new product in the store from Sseko Designs - their beautiful, handmade leather bucket bag. Handcrafted in Ethiopia, this is not only a classic bag, but buying it also directly supports women in Ethiopia.

To showcase the bag, I styled it with a simple black knit dress, a pair of killer booties, a pair of our new sunnies, and simple, eye-catching jewelry. But a leather tote can be worn with many styles and in many ways (which you'll see tomorrow on the blog in our tips and tricks post). Buy this gem of a bag at the shop!
