Spring Florals and Flats: Flirty Style

Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking. - The Devil Wears Prada

Ok, so, Spring florals may not be new, trendy, or groundbreaking, but they sure are cute and the perfect way to brighten your wardrobe with that Spring-spiration (proud of that pun, y'all).

A touch of floral makes the day bright, and the outfit right (I've had too much caffeine, clearly). We love the contrast of a classic, tailored pant with the boho sleeves and flowy fabric of this white blouse. Talk about easy, breezy, CoverGirl. The Charlie ankle pant from Anthropologie is a classic style, and they've produced it in a variety of patterns or colors of the years. This pair's pink and orange floral pop on that green base.

I about died when the J. Crew flats came in to the shop in the same hue of orange. Fun flats for Spring are pouring in to the shop, and so worth finding the perfect pair for your foot. Make sure they're comfortable and not just good-lookin'!

Don't forget to add a pink lip and a bolder fuchsia nail color as you move boldly into your Spring wardrobe. It's time! Seize the Spring day!

Sweater Weather, Part 2: Casual Christmas Style

Linnea White

Whether you're meeting the parents, or just hanging with your parents, this Christmas weekend of gatherings is here, and it's time to get cozy chic, or chicy cozy. Casual Christmas style is an art of balancing chic with comfort, and layering strategically for fireside hangs and post-dinner digestion cold flashes.

Why not play with reds for a festive look for all the feasts and frolicking? This patterned sweater is the perfect layering piece for the Christmas weekend, feeling seasonal without shouting "DECK THE HALLS!"

Try pairing a patterned open sweater over a basic sweater. Keep the details interesting, like the cream ruffles hem of the bottom layer, and intentional, like the red pattern of the leather clutch for a little pattern play.

Wear a pair of cute, and comfortable, booties for an elevated look that's also ready to frolic and play outside after dinner with the nephews. And legging style pants with a lot of stretch are a MUST for any big meal gathering.

Don't forget your red lipstick (locally made, naturally) and a cute antler necklace for festive touch and the finishing touch on that casual Christmas style!

What are you wearing for the Christmas gatherings this weekend? What's your favorite way to embrace the sweater weather?

Sweater Weather: Cozy Winter Knits

Linnea White

Happy first day of Winter, darlings! The sweater weather is in full force, and the cozy Winter knits are many in the shop. Get inspired this week for all those holiday gatherings ahead.

To be honest, the fresh silvery locks inspired the color palette of this outfit, loving the silver white highlights in play with the lavender hues of the Free People blouse and sweater. Any sweater with extra long, chunky sleeves calls for cozy cuddles on Christmas morning with a mug of cocoa. With a pair of stretchy second-skin jeans and staple boots, this outfit is ready for that holiday with family and friends. Add a statement choker, like this locally made pieces with howlite spikes, and a plum lip for an extra level of drama.

Holiday Sparkle | Two Ways

Linnea White

sparkletwoways.png

Holiday sparkle comes in a variety of colors and textures, shapes and sizes, and this week, we styled not one, but two outfits with that thought in mind.

Holiday Sparkle | Part One

This Banana Republic sparkle skirt made this one too easy. I mean, that skirt is really all you need. But instead of going overly sweet with it, I went for a more rocker-chic look, adding lace up booties and a leather jacket.

Holiday Sparkle | Part Two

This doll of a dress is even more stunning in person, with rich hues of mulberry and silver grey. And these Badgley Mischka heels are a work of art, absolute show stoppers, and worthy of all holiday parties (New Years, anyone??). Let shoes like these do most of the talking, because they will indeed be talked about. Why not give some sparkly shoes a twirl this holiday season?

Jumpsuit Holiday Outfit: Alternative Style

Linnea White

Since when did "Holiday Party" mean a dress? When this jumpsuit came into the shop, the oh-so-chic holiday style came together with the tip of a hat. This jumpsuit holiday outfit is ready for any soirée, from office party to dance party.

We've been talking Holiday Style on the blog, featuring darling outfits for your holiday party season. (And, yes, we have more of that to come this week!) But this jumpsuit lends a different vibe to the assumed holiday style, taking what could be an office holiday party outfit to a seriously babe-a-licious level of a chic.

The top hat pattern on this Anthropologie jumpsuit was too cute for words - whimsical without being cheeky. The semi-sheer Urban Outfitters blazer kept the sleek look of the jumpsuit, but with a sexy twist. Keeping it simple, but eye-catching, with accessories, we featured that classic red lip with side swept hair and show-stopper tassel earrings.

How are you wearing jumpsuits this season? Because you totally should.
